I want to elope

My future mother-in-law is such a bitch!!! I sent her an email that asked her for a head count of who she'd like to invite to the wedding (APRIL 22!!), and let her know that if she wanted to be included in anything, I would love it. Nice, huh? She replied with a rough number and asked about date and location. I told her that my parents and I have decided that Phoenix will work best (since our family is there, our friends are there, and MY FUCKING PARENTS ARE PAYING FOR THE DAMN WEDDING). Her mom lives in Tucson (1.5 hours away) and just had a stroke, so she can't travel far (ie to Cali), so Phoenix works for everyone.

She wrote me back and said that she didn't know if Scott and Amy (J's brother and sister) could make the wedding (umm, my sister is in dental school in OMAHA and can make it-they're only at Cal Poly SLO and Berkley), and that she didn't think ANY of her friends could make it all the way to Phoenix (6 hrs in the car, 1 hour by plane), but she understood that not everyone will be happy with all of my plans. J's friend and his wife are having a baby in October, and she threw in that they most likely wouldnt want to travel after having a baby (umm, 6 months later-babies ARE portable), and that her mom was in fact strong enough to make the trip to Cali (even though three weeks ago she told me she wasn't).

I am dreading dealing with this bitch for the rest of my life. I always thought that I would have a great mother-in-law, but I know now that will NEVER happen.

On the plus side, I found the place I want to have the ceremony and reception!! I went to Phx this weekend and looked at a bunch of resorts, and finally decided on one! I'm a lot less stressed out now!
